Having what you want, becoming who you want to be and living the life you want to live really is as easy as A - B - C!
As a result of my growth and development I have found myself continuously needing to immerse myself in new and dynamic environments, scenarios and organisations. Corresponding to this is also the need to get involved in new challenges that coincide with the need to very rapidly integrate myself into the varying environments, which my progress has directed me towards.
The net effect of this developmental process is that I have not been able to have a “settling in” period as such and this has demanded that I always get on top of things very quickly. Although this could be perceived as very unsettling, a great amount of my development has been centered on these challenges. The challenges that have allowed my internal or soft skills to develop at a more rapid rate than would be the case had I been involved in a more traditional organisational model.
The phenomenal benefit of this development has been amazing and in order to succeed I have had to be able to operate in a way where contribution is the priority, contribution that best serves the organisation and the team first…then myself.
The key for me to do this in my levels pf progression is to continuously adapt! Now this is not meant to be misconstrued with not having a firm resolve and being at the whim of the majority.
No being able to adapt is a very reassuring affirmation of the skills and talents that are needed to be able to succeed.
A the best skill set and success strategies need to be convincing I have been able to adapt my core understandings and beliefs to the varying scenarios that I am involved in.
I have to be able to take my skills and talents and adapt them to the needs and requirements of the individuals, teams and organisational demands that are pressing in order to be able to achieve growth and goals for others and then myself!
In every role I have to become the model of success, this entails an inward and outward application of the success principles I have engaged myself in living with. As in order to do something I must first become something. I am only able to do this if I am ready, willing and able to break free from the restrictions that my old paradigms and habits have restricted me to.
Becoming the servant leader is what inspires!
No each and every shift in environment was not easy, in fact each was a new and unique challenge that pushed me outside level of understanding, expanded my awareness and increased my circle of influence. SO in each change I had to make sure that the integrity that got me to that point was never compromised. That’s where I developed an ever increasing respect for the importance of character. What I said had to correspond with what I did and more importantly it had to correspond with how I felt…even though no one could see this they would very quickly experience the difference in results and outcomes if my character was not in harmony.
Character is for me one of the most fundamental aspects of success. As it is character that determines how persistently I will live my integrity, it is my character that motivates the need to contribute, not take credit. It is my character that drives me to improve on my current level and strive for greater effectiveness!
